KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is essential to ensuring high-quality crop production, efficient farm operations, and compliance with safety standards.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Cultivating crops using a vertical farming system
- Cleaning greenhouses and maintaining sanitary conditions
- Leveling earth to fine grade specifications
- Removing suckers and water sprouts manually
- Tying and securing plants for optimal growth
- Coordinating and supervising general farm workers and harvest labourers
- Following farm safety and biosecurity protocols
- Maintaining quality control and production records
- Supervising and overseeing growing and other crop-related operations
- Recording work activities and logs
- Hiring and training staff members
- Performing general farm duties
- Cutting horticultural crops
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Ketler Farms welcomes supervisors who are skilled, hands-on, and committed to producing quality crops:
- No formal degree required
- 1–2 years of farm work or supervision experience
- Experience in cucumber or similar crop production
- Ability to supervise more than 20 employees
- Knowledge of agricultural crop services
- Physically fit with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in hot and noisy environments
- Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Willing to work early mornings, weekends, and overtime
- Steel-toed safety boots required
