Dairy Herd Manager jobs available at Working In
We are looking for a qualified Dairy Herd Manager to run the daily dairy farming operations such as feeding and milking cows, monitoring animal health, and environmental management.
This is a full-time, permanent role with an hourly rate between $30 and $32, depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and perform daily chores in a timely and organised fashion, including preparing the parlour, feeding animals as directed, milking, bottle calves, scraping holding pens, bedding stalls, and cleaning.
- Ensure smooth operation of the milking parlour through daily inspections, monitoring of management software KPIs, cleaning, and maintenance as required.
- Monitor animal health and treat accordingly.
- Perform general farm duties such as fencing and feeding out.
- Be on call for alarms from the shed 24hrs/day when rostered on.
- Work in a close-knit team, with autumn and spring calving and dry stock also managed on the farm.

- A relevant tertiary degree – agricultural diploma preferred.
- Or a minimum of one year of experience in farming, horticulture, or viticulture management/supervision; dairy experience is preferred.
- Must be comfortable with technology and the idea of being on call.
