Coast Tire & Auto Service Ltd is a well-established and reputable company specializing in automotive maintenance and repair services. As the company continues to grow, they are looking for dedicated professionals to join their team. They are currently seeking an Automotive Mechanic for their Amherst, NS location. They are looking for skilled, detail-oriented, and motivated individuals to be part of their workforce.
This is a permanent, full-time role with an hourly rate ranging from $22.00 to $28.00 per hour (to be negotiated).
Key Responsibilities:
As an Automotive Mechanic, your tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
- Perform scheduled maintenance service.
- Test and adjust units to specifications.
- Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
- Coach and instruct apprentices.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Job Requirements:
The company is seeking individuals who have the following qualifications:
- A valid Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification.
- Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension and Brakes) Trade Certification is preferred.
- Red Seal Certification is an asset.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in automotive repair.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
Experience and Specialization:
- Knowledge in repairing and maintaining various automotive systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Standing for extended periods may be required.
Additional Information:
- Own transportation is required.
- Must have steel-toed safety boots.
- A driving record check (abstract) may be required.
- The position is classified as a green job due to its contribution to environmental sustainability.
