KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Welder at Lisi Mechanical Contractors Ltd., you will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting welding process specifications and technical documentation.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, manuals, and welding procedures.
  • Operating manual, semi-automatic, fully automated, and robotic welding equipment.
  • Examining completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
  • Performing flame-cutting, oxygen arc cutting (AOC), brazing, and soldering tasks.
  • Determining weldability of materials and selecting appropriate welding methods.
  • Fabricating, repairing, and assembling metal parts and products.
  • Maintaining welding equipment and performing minor repairs as required.
  • Safely operating hoisting, lifting, and metal-shaping equipment.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience with:

  • Manual and automated welding machines
  • Flame-cutting and oxygen arc cutting equipment
  • CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools
  • Brakes, shears, bending, and straightening machines
  • Robotic welding production lines
  • Brazing and soldering equipment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

The ideal candidates will:

  • Hold a Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate
  • Have 3 to less than 5 years of professional welding experience
  • Possess a Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Follow safety procedures and workplace standards consistently
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team

WORK CONDITIONS

This role involves:

  • Working on-site at job locations in Toronto, Ontario
  • Full-time hours (40 hours per week)
  • A physically demanding environment requiring precision and safety awareness
  • No remote or hybrid work option
