Key Responsibilities
As a Maitre d’hôtel at Novotel Nelson, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and ensuring the quality of service across all F&B points: restaurant, bar, banquets, room service, and minibar
- Supervising the setup and cleanliness of all dining areas and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
- Coordinating with other departments (kitchen, front office, sales, etc.) to guarantee high-quality guest experiences
- Leading and motivating the service team, contributing to team training, integration, and development
- Monitoring inventory and equipment in collaboration with procurement
- Driving sales and customer satisfaction through commercial initiatives and upselling techniques
- Upholding environmental commitments and maintaining service consistency with hotel standards
- Acting as the duty manager during scheduled shifts
Required Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Hotel or hospitality management diploma preferred
- Prior experience in a similar role at a comparable hotel; previous Novotel experience is an asset
- Fluent in English; Italian knowledge is a plus
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems (VG software preferred)
- Team leadership experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, diplomacy, and customer focus
- Professional appearance and a positive, collaborative mindset
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
