Key Responsibilities

As a Health and Safety Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and organizing daily operations
  • Providing information and training to employers, employees, and the general public
  • Establishing and implementing occupational health and safety policies and procedures
  • Inspecting workplaces for safety or health hazards
  • Investigating workplace accidents or illnesses
  • Developing and implementing health and safety plans
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Advising senior management on safety matters
  • Responding to employee questions and complaints
  • Conducting inspections related to work-related accidents
  • Working within construction and office environments

Required Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2 to less than 3 years of relevant experience
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
  • Experience in construction site environments
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and email systems
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Required personal protective equipment includes safety boots (steel-toed), hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles
